Orillia Pickleball Tournament a Huge Success!
The City of Orillia and the Orillia Pickleball Club partnered to put on the first ever pickleball tourament hosted at the Orillia Recreation Centre. The event was held on Saturday, November 16th from 8am-2pm, and utilized all 6 courts. The inauguaral event was kept to a simplified two divisions (Beginner/Novice & Intermediate/Advanced) with general teams, partly to gauge interest in more specialized tournaments and formats in the future. Safe to say, support was overwhelming and bodes well for future events featuring men's, women's and mixed doubles formats. See the OrilliaMatters.com coverage of the event for more details: "City's first pickleball tournament a hit with athletes"
