This is your invitation to register to be a member of our 2025 outdoor season Captain / Manager Community and Captain Coordinator Team!
We need your help in filling all captain and manager vacancies no later than April 13 (12PM MST). Events cannot proceed without a captain on-board.
CAPTAINS / MANAGERS - To streamline the captain / manager community, our goal is to source a maximum of 6 captains / managers for each event. This means you will likely be assigned consecutive weeks, registering to captain multiple events is welcomed. The SCPA outdoor team will compile a captain / manager assignment schedule from the registrations received that will cover all events for the entire 2025 outdoor season running from April 27 - October 4. The Lead Captain will exercise best efforts to assign you to events as requested.
You will be assigned based on your availability. Please identify ONLY the dates you are NOT AVAILABLE. If you are unable to captain / manage an assigned event, you will utilize the Captain / Manager Community to source a replacement. Should an urgent and unexpected need arise for a substitute you will contact the Captain Coordinator for your level. You can count on the full support of the entire team!
CAPTAIN COORDINATOR - There will be 1 Captain Coordinator for each level. The primary responsibility of this individual will be to assist the captain by posting a short notice / event cancellation (i.e., less than 2 hours prior to the event), to the SCPA Facebook page. To learn more about this integral SCPA role please review the attached Captain Coordinator Job Description. Note, the Captain Coordinator must register for all events in which they desire to participate.
As part of your commitment, all captains / managers and captain coordinators will be required to attend an orientation training session that will be scheduled for the weeks of April 20 and April 27. The dates and times for these sessions will be communicated by April 18.
Being captain of a Round Robin / Open / Paddles on the Fence / King of the Court event guarantees you a spot to play in that event! This is a popular perk that many members value!
