    TOURNAMENT DETAILS
    Date: Sept. 16 (preliminaries) - and Sunday, Sept. 17 (finals)


    Location: Veterans Courts (see details on website)


    Registration: Starts Friday August 18, 6:00 pm Ends Saturday, September 19, 11:59pm. FOR BVPA MEMBERS ONLY.


    Cancellations: Full refund if before deadline. No refunds after deadline.


    Divisions and maximum registrations: Novice (24), Intermediate (24), Advanced (16). A Wait list will be available to registrants if oversubscribed. Maximums and pool numbers may be adjusted if warranted by registrations.
    Pools will be seeded by the play committee before the tournament.


    Format:
    Preliminaries:

    Round Robin pool play.  Doubles (different partner each game).
    8 people per pool (7 games guaranteed)
    12 min games to 11 points, win by 1
    Non-completed games that are within a 3-point differential are considered a tie.
    EG. 10-7, 9-8, would be considered a tie.
    Scoring = 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss
    Finals:
    The top 4 players from each division pool advance to the Sunday finals. Who advances to finals from the preliminaries- if there are 2 pools in the division, top 2 players in each pool will advance. If there are 3 pools in the division, the top player in each pool and the player with the most points between the second place players in each pool will advance. If there are 4 pools in the division, the top player from each pool will advance. The top player is defined as the player with most points.
    Finals will be a double round robin per division (6 games guaranteed), games to 11, win by 2.

    Tie Break for preliminaries pool play and finals would be, firstly, total wins and if players are still tied, the
    total of the difference between points for, and points against, in round robin play.
    If still tied, then there will then be a coin toss to decide the top player.

    There will be a social to follow the Finals at the Canmore Legion from 3-5 pm.
