Player Development
This group handles all aspects of growth of player skills and experiences, working closely with Play Coordinators to incorporate player growth strategies into regular play and special events. Several people have worked at this over the years, and this group can now take a more holistic look at the entire picture of how to help our members improve their play, train to help others, and enjoy special events
- Work with Strategy Committee to develop a roadmap for player development goals.
- Arrange and coordinate player training clinics.
- Arrange and coordinate referee training/clinics.
- Work with other North Shore clubs on ladder league events.
- Arrange and promote tournaments and other special play events (including in-house fun tournaments and Team events).
- Host tournaments/events at the regional/provincial level.
- Maintain and adjust the content of the Intro to Pickleball sessions. Ensure that the content is relevant and easy to learn from. Train other members to conduct the sessions. Work with Strategy Committee to determine whether we should be recruiting or are at capacity.
- Consider formal mentoring - bring together veterans and newcomers.
- Advise the Play Coordinator Committee on drills and skills development to incorporate into day-
- to-day play.
- Work with Strategy Committee to identify interested younger members of the club to encourage as future leaders.
- DUPR or other ratings – periodically revisit what should be done about this.
