Strategy Committee
This group handles the long-term thinking about how all aspects of the Club work together and what changes might be made in the future. Tasks include gathering data and implementing projects (sometimes through other Committees as appropriate).
- Interact with municipal and provincial contacts and institutions as appropriate.
- Maintain ongoing succession planning for leadership of the Club and Committees.
- Work with Facilities and Equipment Committee on the long-term road map for facilities and play locations.
- Work with Player Development Committee on the long-term road map for skills developmentand training for players.
- Keep data on age/experience/location of members, to figure out where recruitment and retention efforts should be focused.
- Ensure diverse representation in the club governance, such as players of different skill levels from varying locations with different perspectives.
- Consider when/whether to expand to support other groups (wheelchair players, under-18 players, etc).
- Consider how to interact with other pickleball groups on Manitoulin (Kagawong, Gore Bay, Wiikwemkoong).
- Consider the question of our realistic capacity, membership target numbers, and recruitment strategy. Should we slow down or speed up recruitment? Analyze turnover, how many players we are losing and consider their demographics and/or reaching out to find out reasons.
