Today the City of Orillia ratified their capital budget for 2026 and in that budget are funds to build 10 outdoor courts at the Recreation Center.
They will be built to Canada Pickleball Standards (International PB Standards) and be the new Home ofthe Orillia Pickleball Club. Other existing courts will continue to open, and be considered Municipal Courts, open to the public.
The next step is for the City to create a Request for Proposal for construction to start in the spring of 2026 (weather dependant......April or May expected) There are no "false promises" being made as to when the courts will be available for play.
We are expected to contribute $50,000 towards this project:Needless to say, our focus is to find the $50,000 and create an absolutely fabulous facility that everyone can enjoy!
Huge thanks are due to The Mayor, The Recreation Department, and all the other City departments who have made this possible.
Thank You
