TERRY FOX TOURNAMENT FUND RAISING FOR CANCER CURE

On Sunday, September 15th 2024, Stratford Pickleball Association and Pinnacle Field House will co-host a

FUN TOURNAMENT to raise Funds for the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope.

Entrance is by Donation to the Fund ( $10 pp suggested ) Round Robin fun Tournament set up for a minimum of 6 Games per player.

The Games will be followed by a Social Time at a local establishment .

2024 may 4TH TOURNAMENT

Stratford Pickleball will be hosting a Doubles Tournament on Saturday, May 4th 2024.

Participants will register singly and be grouped together in Groups of 8 to play with those of similar skill, experience, age, and, if requested and sufficient numbers, by gender.

Skill Levels will represent Beginners, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5

Entrants will be slotted into a category based on both Skill Level and Age to help make the Tournament Competitive, Fair, and Fun.

Tournament will start at 9 am on the Saturday morning and continue until Winners are determined. ( approximately 4:30 PM )

The Tournament will be capped at 64 participants and we hope to inspire beginners and 2.0 to 2.5 levels to try their hand competing against each other.

Cost of the Tournament is $25 per player and will include a free pizza lunch.

PINNACLE REOPENS WITH NEW FLOORS AND COURTS

After a 5 day closure that turned into a 5 week closure Pinnacle Field House re-opened it's refurbished Courts.

2 New Courts were added, bringing the total to 8 Courts, all spaced and lined to Tournament Specifications and a new floor of a special rubberized paint was put on in layers, making the Courts ' State of the Art ' and so much easier on the knees, hips, and back .

A common area was added for waiting and viewing as well as storage area for pickleball bags. Additionally there are 2 change rooms available for anyone who is shy about using the ' Common ' Area to gear up !

All Players were excited to get back into ' The Swing of Things ' and with a few adaptions to their play to adjust to the different bounce on the new floor everyone was happy and full of praise.

Pinnacle is open 7 days a week, with open play from 8 am to 9:30 am Monday to Friday and Court Booking Play up until 9:30 pm the rest of the day. Saturday is Open Play from 8 am on until closing, and Sunday is Court Booking Play only .

Management and Staff at Pinnacle have done an excellent job in creating the vibrant playing space.

SPA SEPTEMBER TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, September 16th, Stratford Pickleball Association hosted it's first Pinnacle Field House Tournament.

This was organized as a ' Fun Tournament ' with 40 players divided up into 5 Groups to play with and against each other in the Group, and then the winners of those Groups played off again until there was a final four to play off to determine a final winner.

Gary Cooper, from SPA emerged victorious after playing more than a dozen games during the day .

Congratulations Gary.

Winner of the Sport Check $100 Gift Certificate was determined by a name draw from all participants .

Congratulations to Gerry Forwell as the lucky winner.
