GRAND BEND PICKLEBALL CLUB

Welcome to the Grand Bend Pickleball Club registration page! Club registration is open! Please note, Pickleball Ontario requires a unique email address for each and every member.

Grand Bend Pickleball Club is affiliated with both Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Ontario. Membership with both organizations is required to become a member of Grand Bend Pickleball Club. You can join or renew for a calendar year as early as September 1st the year before. This means, if you join or renew on September 1st, you will get up to 16 months of membership.

FEE SUMMARY

  • $10.00 for Pickleball Canada (plus a small processing fee)
  • $10.00 for Pickleball Ontario (plus a small processing fee)
  • $30.00 for Grand Bend Pickleball Club

You pay online using your credit card. Cheques are not accepted.

WHAT MY FEES COVER

  • Any outdoor play at the TRIDON Pickleball Courts i.e., Open Social Play, Ladder League, Round Robin, leveled play 
  • Club supplies such as shoe tags, balls, nets, first aid equipment, leaf blower, portable toilet rental, scheduling apps
  • Insurance coverage (through PCO/PAO) for individual members and the club
  • Rental fees for the Annual General Meeting venue
  • Bank charges

HOW TO SIGN UP

 When registering, you must select our club or you will not appear in the club directory. You must be on our list to play at the TRIDON Pickleball Courts.

OPTION 1: Renewing or Joining a Second Club

If you are already a member of Pickleball Canada (PCO) and/or Pickleball Ontario (PAO), be sure to enter your membership info so that you do not create a duplicate membership. If you have been a member of ANY pickleball club in the past, chances are you have already been a member PCO. In this case, please use the “I Am Renewing My Membership” option, NOT the “I Am New” option.

  2. Look up your current PCO member number. Your registration form will be populated with your membership details.

If you have already registered with Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Ontario, you will only be paying the GBPC registration.

OPTION 2: I Am A New Member

If you have never joined PCO/PAO, click on the 'I Am a New Member' aqua coloured button and follow the instructions.

You will receive a receipt via email that has your Pickleball Canada member number along with a Welcome email from our Club.

Note: The Grand Bend Pickleball Club is a social organization whose members come together to enjoy each other's company as much as to enjoy the game of Pickleball. It is very common for the club and individual members to take pictures and videos to capture special moments. Some of these pictures and videos are shared on various social media accounts and the club webpage. If you have an objection to being included in these pictures and/or videos, please inform the board by filling out the photo waiver under the members section of the web page and make sure to let the club hosts at the event know your preference as well.

PLEASE check to see if you are already in the system before you register as a new member.  You may just need to RENEW.

What is the Membership Year?

The membership year for Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Ontario is from January 1 to December 31. If you register on September 1 or later in the year your membership runs to December 31 of the following year.

Please note that Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada membership fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Ensure that you are joining the correct Member Club and that you are aware of their membership fees and costs.


Pickleball Canada Registration

Our new registration system allows you to register at one time with your club, if you belong to one, your provincial or territorial sports organization (PTSO) and Pickleball Canada. If you belong to more than one club, you will only register with Pickleball Canada once! If you belong to more than one club and they are in different provinces/territories you will be required to join each of the PTSOs.

RELEASE AGREEMENT

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT(hereinafter referred to as the "Release Agreement")

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
This Release Agreement shall apply to all subsequent membership renewals.

BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT YOU WILL WAIVE OR GIVE UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE OR CLAIM COMPENSATION FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT

TO: PICKLEBALL CANADA ORGANIZATION, and its affiliated provinces and territories and its local associations and clubs, and their respective directors, officers, employees, instructors, agents, representatives, volunteers, independent contractors, subcontractors, sponsors, successors and assigns (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Releasees").

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS

I am aware that participating in the sport of pickleball involves many risks, dangers and hazards including, but not limited to: collision with other persons or objects; being struck by a paddle; being hit by a ball; the risk of stroke, heart attack or other similar life threatening conditions caused by physical exertion; the risk of personal injury including, but not limited to, strains, sprains, fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury including paraplegia or quadriplegia, or death; loss of balance or control; slips, trips and falls; negligent first aid; failure to act safely or within one’s own ability; negligence of other persons; and, NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES. I UNDERSTAND THAT NEGLIGENCE INCLUDES FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS REFERRED TO ABOVE. I FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS RESULTING THEREFROM.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

In consideration of the Releasees accepting my application for membership in the Pickleball Canada Organization and, as applicable, my affiliated province or territory and local association or club, and permitting my use of the facilities and premises provided by the Releasees (hereinafter "the premises"), I hereby agree as follows:

1. TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I have or may in the future have against THE RELEASEES, and TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury including death that I may suffer, or that my next of kin may suffer, as a result of my participation in the sport of pickleball including, but not limited to, my use of the premises DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE OWED UNDER ANY PROVINCIAL OCCUPIERS’ LIABILITY LEGISLATION ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES. I UNDERSTAND THAT NEGLIGENCE INCLUDES THE FAILURE ON PART OF THE RELEASEES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS REFERRED TO ABOVE.

2. TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any damage to property of or personal injury to any third party, resulting from my use of or presence on the premises;

3. This Release Agreement shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives, in the event of my death or incapacity;

4. This Release Agreement and any rights, duties and obligations as between the parties to this Release Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted solely in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and no other jurisdiction; and

5. Any litigation involving the parties to this Release Agreement shall be brought solely within the Province of Ontario, and shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Province of Ontario.

In entering into this Release Agreement I am not relying upon any oral or written representations or statements made by the Releasees with respect to the safety of pickleball other than what is set forth in this Agreement.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS RELEASE AGREEMENT AND I AM AWARE THAT BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH I OR MY HEIRS, NEXT OF KIN, EXECUTORS, ADMINISTRATORS, ASSIGNS AND REPRESENTATIVES MAY HAVE AGAINST THE RELEASEES.

Assumption of risks and indemnity agreement for Pickleball Ontario

(hereinafter referred to as the “Release Agreement”)

By agreeing to this document, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue or claim compensation following transmission of a communicable disease or an accident

TO: PICKLEBALL ONTARIO associations, clubs and their respective directors, officers, employees, instructors, agents, representatives, volunteers, independent contractors, subcontractors, sponsors, successors and assigns (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Releasees”).

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS

I am aware that participating in the sport of pickleball involves many risks, dangers and hazards including, but not limited to: the transmission of a communicable disease, including but not limited to COVID-19; collision with other persons or objects; being struck by a paddle; being hit by a ball; the risk of stroke, heart attack or other similar life threatening conditions caused by physical exertion; the risk of personal injury including, but not limited to, strains, sprains, fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury including paraplegia or quadriplegia, or death; loss of balance or control; slips, trips and falls; negligent first aid; failure to act safely or within one’s own ability; negligence of other persons; and, negligence on the part of the releasees. I understand that negligence includes failure on the part of the releasees to take reasonable steps to safeguard or protect me from the risks, dangers and hazards referred to above. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, or property damage or loss resulting therefrom.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

I understand that negligence includes the failure on part of the releasees to take reasonable steps to safeguard or protect me from the risks, dangers and hazards referred to above.
  2. To hold harmless and indemnify the releasees from any and all liability for any damage to property of or personal injury to any third party, resulting from my use of or presence on the premises.
  3. This Release Agreement shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives, in the event of my death or incapacity;
  4. This Release Agreement and any rights, duties and obligations as between the parties to this Release Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted solely in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario.
  5. Any litigation involving the parties to this Release Agreement shall be brought solely within the Province of Ontario and shall be within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Province Ontario.
