  • Eyewear is mandatory to play at AgRec.

Your regular eyeglasses or lens-less frames will be acceptable.  The minimum eyewear can be your regular glasses or just frames without lenses. We appreciate some will not be used to wearing glasses so may feel they want to remove the eyewear while playing, please don’t do that, we don’t want our hosts to have to stop play to be rule enforcers.

We do have generic safety glasses available at AgRec if you need them, free, just ask the host as they are kept in our cage.

  • AgRec Updates Important News

Here are some important updates, please do read to the end.

Starting April 1, play sessions at AgRec are now 2.5 hours. We requested this increase from the City as we are no longer allowed to enter the building early. If you arrive early, wait outside or in your vehicle. If you are a host, do not open early, don't put APA at risk of breaking the contracts we sign with the city. Start net take down ten minutes before session end and vacate the building by session end time.

To cover the extra rental cost, Play Credit cost is increasing from $5 to $6 effective Tuesday April 15th 7 PM

Effective with the bookings of the April sessions, Play Credits will now be charged when you sign up rather than on FOB in. Be sure you have purchased enough play credits. If you are in a negative Play Credit balance of minus three (-3) or more, you will not be able to book more sessions.

If you are going to remove yourself from a session or from the waitlist, you must do this 24 hours before the session start time in order to be refunded the Play Credit you were charged on sign up. This time is being extended to allow more sign-up time for others after you drop out.

If you miss the 24 hour deadline, be sure to sign yourself out anyway. If you don’t you will be charged the additional two Play Credit penalty for being a No-Show. Harsh, isn’t it? Sorry, we need to respect our hosts and the work they do and all the players whose playtime is delayed by the No-Shows.

Please don’t book unless you really plan on attending. We need to inform the city two weeks in advance if we need to cancel a session, so we need to be able to depend on those who have booked, to stay booked.

Book Your Own Courts – For insurance purposes APA needs to have a record of who is in the building and when. This includes members and non-members.  When you sign up you can add the names of the others, members or non-members, and change them afterwards.

Happy pickling fellow picklers, be kind to those starting out, we all started out just a few short years ago.

Host a Session or Volunteer for Tournaments and Events!
The success of our Abbotsford Pickleball Association relies on the passion and dedication of our members. We're always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us create the best possible experience for everyone, both on and off the court. By hosting a session, you play a pivotal role in ensuring our community has fun, well-organized play. It’s a rewarding way to give back, connect with fellow players, and even earn a free session for each one you host!

In addition to hosting, we also need volunteers for our tournaments and other special events. Whether it’s helping with registration, managing brackets, or setting up courts, every contribution makes a huge difference. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn more about the game, and be part of the exciting atmosphere that makes our events so special. Your time and effort help keep our association thriving, and we truly appreciate your support!
