Approval of Previous AGM Minutes

The minutes from the last AGM, held on September 27, 2023 were

approved.

Conflict of Interest

There were no conflicts of interest.

Financial Presentation

The financial report presented by the Treasurer stated that the current club

balance is $4006.00. This amount includes the Plant the Seed Grant from

Pickleball Ontario in the amount of $500.00 and the Participation Grant also

in the amount of $500.00.

Club Apparel

Sue Ashdown will be present and have club apparel to view and sell at

evening play at W.C. Eaket on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and at

Jeunesse-Nord on Wednesday evenings.

Evening Play

Evening play on Tuesday and Thursday at W.C. Eaket will be a

combination of paddles up and competitive level play. The first thirty

minutes each evening will consist of a warmup or training requested by

individual members. Adjustments to the proposed schedule for each

evening will be adjusted as needed. Out of town members are welcome to

join the evening play at Eaket.

A buzzer system will be in place for members to enter by Door N as the

previous entrance is unavailable for use.

Constitution

Mark Whitmore has joined the constitution subcommittee. The committee

will work to adjust the current constitution and make it more user friendly.

Proposed changes to the Constitution:

• Proposed change removed: 5.9 - change passing from 75% to 51%

The Constitution may be amended by Special Resolution, requiring the votes of

at least 75% of the members in a Special General Meeting.

• Approved: In all references to the Vice-President/Secretary, Vice-President will

be removed

• Approved: In all references to the Vice-President/Treasurer, Vice-President will

be removed

• Approved: (4.3) Term of service for the Executive will commence at noon on the

day after they are elected as opposed to the current 30 day transition period

• Approved: (2.4) To actively promote and support fair and equal access to all

Pickleball programs regardless of ability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic or

racial origin or religion....who are 19+ years of age or older (this statement

will be added).

General Business

BRPC Facebook and Website

Changes will be made on both the club’s facebook page and website. A link will

also be provided on both sites for members to access if they have questions or

concerns.

Conflict Resolution Committee

Agnes Cudmore and Debbie Shamas are members of the newly formed Conflict

Resolution subcommittee that can be accessed by members to help with conflict

resolution.
