In the 2024-25 season, TSPC piloted DUPR as a means of assessing players to determine readiness for the Competitive level sessions. The executive felt that DUPR was more effective than the testing method used previously. DUPR also allows the club to organize play such that individuals are better matched with like competitors.
DUPR RATING SESSIONS are scheduled the last two weeks per month:
- RECREATIONAL DUPR RATING sessions: last two Tuesdays per month at the Community Hall
- COMPETITIVE DUPR RATING sessions: last two Wednesdays per month at ESCSM
- Refer to SUG for exact dates and time
Competitive Level Play
Currently, members that attain a DUPR rating greater than 3.1 at a minimum reliability of 60% can be invited to play in Competitive sessions.
- Note that TSPC members may only play in one division: recreational or competitive.
- A player that attains the benchmark for competitive level may choose to remain playing at the competitive or the recreational level. However, they must choose, they cannot receive SUG invites for both divisions.
- Players attaining competitive status prior to DUPR implementation, who do not wish to participate in DUPR, will be given a DUPR rating of 3.1.
Because we are in the early implementation stage of using DUPR, understand this is a work in progress, and our policies/practices will need to be tweaked as we learn more about using the DUPR tool effectively for our specific club circumstances.
