How to join us to play

Our club, in association with the Moose Lodge 947, hosts regular play for our members. Our online calendar is viewable at the bottom of this page. Full access to our online scheduler is only available for members of either TBayPC or the Moose (we share a common scheduling system). Both the Moose and TBayPC have a 2 event limit guest policy to attend our events and try out our clubs and sport. You can contact any member to be their guest or contact our head instructor to be his guest if you do not know another member.

    On October 23rd at the Moose Hall (434 Fort William Rd.) invite your friends and family to come try out our newest and most exciting event Glow in the Dark Black Light Pickleball! Open to everyone at $15/session for LPC members and $20/session for non-members (Moose fee included in pricing). Sessions will run for 2 hours each. Sign up today before all sessions are full on Playerlineup.

  • Lakehead Open - July 1-3

    July 1st Pickleball Play.


    The city has given LPC and True North Pickleball Company the rights to use all pickleball and tennis courts from July 1st to 3rd.
    LPC will be running different programs from 1pm till 6pm covering the first two permanent pickleball courts closest to the door on July 1st. The two far permanent courts as well 4 non permanent courts on the tennis area to practise all day on July 1st. .
    It’s first come first serve to practise Friday. Just please be mindful it will be busy and to share when done. Thank you. .


    The tournament is on July 2nd and if it rains then July 3rd will be using all 8 courts setup.


    6 courts to be used for tournament play and two for warm up /practise courts. Spectators are welcome outside the courts or inside the tennis area closest to the middle fence where there will be benches, or bring a lawn chair to watch.


    The portapotty is now there but will only be open July 1st , 2nd unless a executive member with a key is playing July 30th

  • INAUGURAL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

    All Lakehead Pickleball Club members are invited to the club's inaugural annual general meeting.  The interim board of directors put in place last year has been hard at work in growing the sport of pickleball in Thunder Bay.  Come hear of all the great initiatives that were put in place in this first year of operations.  On the governance side of things, the Board of Directors also drafted By-laws that will presented at the AGM for adoption by the membership.  The AGM is also YOUR opportunity as club members to have your say in future strategic LPC orientations as well as electing the first slate of Directors to represent your interests (5 positions available).  Join us for this important meeting and indoor open play will be available afterwards!  Click on this link to access: AGM Notice, AGM Agenda, draft by-laws and Nomination form to be used to nominate members for one of the elected position.

  • LPC Activities for weekend of June 17th - 19th

    An exciting weekend filled with all kinds of Pickleball initiatives to keep the weekend interesting:


    FREE Kids Beginners Clinic: Friday June 17th from 6:00PM to 7:30PM. This kids clinic will include an introduction clinic, games and tournament style play for beginners 18 years and under. If you have any children or know of friends who have kids who may be interested in trying out Pickleball please sign them up on PlayerLineUp as a guest.  We will provide, instruction, games and a match play tourney at the end.  All equipment is supplied!  Please see Lakehead Pickleball Club PlayerLineUp for additional details.


    FREE Adult Clinic for those 19 years and older: Friday June 17th from 7:30PM to 9:00PM. This clinic is open to all LPC members but you must bring a friend who has not previously played Pickleball.   This clinic will focus on fundamentals in learning how to dink, volley, serve, return and using a third shot drop.  A full breakdown of all skills will be provided and then have time for match play in a tournament style. Please sign up using PlayerLineUp and specifying the name of your friend.  



    Saturday June 18th Mixed Play Intermediate to Advance Play: 9AM to 11AM.  Open for all LPC members this timeplay will give you the experience of tournament play in preparation for the upcoming LPC Tournament on July 2-3rd! Please see Lakehead Pickleball Club PlayerLineUp for additional details.

    Fathers/Guardian/Significant Friend's Day: Sunday June 19th 9AM to 11AM. Open to all LPC members as well as anyone who has not attended an LPC even previously using the one-time, guest day (copies of liability waiver forms will be available and required before staring play).  So bring your favorite Dad, Guardian or Significant Friend for a few hours of play before going for Brunch!

  • Lakehead Open Tournament in Thunder Bay July 2-3rd 2022!

    Let's get this show on the road! First outdoor Selkirk True North Pickleball Tour event of the year! This tournament is pending sanctioning and will be running by IFP rules with all medal matches refereed.
    This will be a skill/age event broken into 3.0-, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+ skill levels and 16+, 35+, 50+, 65+ age levels plus open events. Where necessary, and at the sole discretion of the tournament director events will be combined or split, skill will be combined before age. The format will be pool round robins followed by a single elimination medal round.
    This will be an outdoor tournament and subject to weather. In the event of poor weather every effort will be made to complete events but there will be no refunds for any weather related cancellations, There will be a $20 weather insurance option upon registration which if chosen will see you refunded (minus the weather insurance) for the event.
    Two matches guaranteed but unless faced with a last minute withdrawal everyone should get at least 3 matches in each event.
    Your spot is not guaranteed in your event until both partners are registered and paid in full.
