This is your 2024 invitation to register to be a member of our outdoor season Captain Community, Manager Community (League) and Captain Liaison!
We need your help in filling all captain and manager communities no later than April 15 (12PM MST). Events cannot proceed without a captain on-board!
CAPTAINS / MANAGERS - To spread the load, our goal is to source a minimum of 2 Captains / Managers, for each event and for each month. The SCPA outdoor team will compile a Captain/Manager assignment schedule from the registrations received that will cover all events for the entire 2024 outdoor season running from May 5 - September 28. The schedule you are assigned will reflect the months, events and exclusion dates that you have communicated through this registration process. If you are unable to captain/manage an assigned event you will reach into your Captain/Manager team to source a replacement, should an emergent unexpected need arise for a substitute you would contact the Lead Captain. The point of sharing this statement is that you can count on the full support of your entire team!
CAPTAIN LIAISON - There will be 1 Captain Liaison for each level. The primary responsibility of this individual will be to assist the captain by posting a short notice event cancellation (i.e., less than 2 hours prior to the event), to the SCPA Facebook page. To learn more about this integral SCPA role please review the Captain Liaison reference sheet attached to this registration. Note, the Captain Liaison will still need to register for all events they wish to participate in.
As part of your commitment you will be required to attend a Captain/Manager orientation training session that will be scheduled for the weeks of April 21 and April 29. The dates and times for these sessions will be communicated by April 19.
The assigned captain of an event will be auto-registered by the outdoor team, guaranteeing you a spot! This is a popular perk that many members value!
