New Tec Pickleball Mission
The primary purpose of this club is to promote the growth and development of pickleball in the New Tecumseth area as a sport for all ages, and as a tool to encourage health, enjoyment, and social engagement by providing information, instruction, and organized play for all skill levels.
New Tec Pickleball is HERE!
We have established a new pickleball club right here in New Tecumseth. We’re calling it the New Tec Pickleball Club (NTPC) and we’d like you to sign up today.
Our goal is to promote the growth and development of pickleball in the New Tecumseth area, as a sport for all ages, and as a tool to encourage health, enjoyment, and social engagement by providing information, instruction, and organized play for all skill and age levels.
Since the NTPC is a Pickleball-Ontario-affiliated club, Pickleball Ontario ($10) and Pickleball Canada ($10) memberships are required for both junior and adult memberships.
Your 2024 membership is valid until December 31, 2025, and includes participation in outdoor/summer programming as well as the opportunity to register for indoor play in the winter of 2025.
Membership Benefits
- It’s an opportunity to expand your social circle and get connected with other fun, active fellow “picklers” who are passionate about the sport and play at both recreational and competitive levels.
- More public courts to play on every year!
- Participate at a recreational or competitive level in our New Tec Pickleball Tournament.
- Participate in our Learn & Play events, group clinics, and fun social events.
- Our New Tec Pickleball Club website and FaceBook Page where we post helpful information about pickleball in our community, who your Board of Directors are, and how to contact them
Fundraising
Ho ho ho! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Help us jump-start our first fundraising effort with the purchase of a beautiful, handcrafted holiday ornament for the price of $12.00, and James and Nicole Meerburg will generously donate $2.00 of each sale to the New Tec Pickleball Club. To place an order, contact Nicole Meerburg on Facebook, 905-801-8858 (cell), or e-mail Thecanadianhathouse@gmail.com. Thank you, James and Nicole!
Pickleball Safety
Who We Are
We are a diverse and inclusive sports group that believes every resident in New Tecumseth should have the opportunity to learn, and to play pickleball regardless of age or ability.
- We are the collective voice of the New Tecumseth Pickleball Club membership and we advocate on YOUR behalf for all things pickleball within our municipality.
- We continue to advocate for safe, well maintained indoor and outdoor pickleball facilities and equipment.
- We continue to advocate for “PICKLEBALL-ONLY” courts.
- We continue to advocate for pickleball lines on tennis and badminton court that get resurfaced so the number of shared-use places to play continues to grow.
- We provide pickleball input to the the Town’s Parks and Rec. Department to perpetuate the development and growth of the sport.
Volunteer Opportunities
We need YOUR help to make our Club the best it can be!
1) Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down nets for evening play on Wednesdays and Fridays starting in January 2025 at Banting. Contact Kim at jedellison@newtecpickleball.org.
2) Volunteers with experience in grant applications and fundraising are wanted to help us find the resources we need to carry out our goals. Contact Sue, smiadovnick@newtecpickleball@org, or Jody, jmacdonald@newtecpickleball.org.
3) 67% of you said on our Club Survey that you were interested in assisting in the development of a youth program. We're applying for funds to support this initiative, and would like to put some plans in place. Contact Sarah, Director of Youth Development: svanryn@newtecpickleball.org.
4) Social butterflies wanted, to plan some fun activities for us to do! Contact Helen, Social Events Coordinator: hwilks@newtecpickleball.org.
With your support we can accomplish much!
