Access to TRIDON Pickleball Courts Sign-Off

Access to TRIDON Pickleball Courts Sign-off

(Court Conveners, Program Leaders, Social Committee Members, Directors, Certified Coaches, & Player Development Team)

  1. When you arrive at TRIDON PICKLEBALL COURTS swing open the brown metal gate and secure it with the pin. If it is too heavy, get assistance from other players arriving early.
  2. Open the clubhouse using the confidential CODE provided by the club. The key to the padlock on the court doors is hung high on the inside of the clubhouse doorframe. Be sure to return the key to this location.
  3. With the assistance of other players, do any court clean up needed for safe play. If the courts are unsafe to play on, cancel the time slot using the Club WhatsApp Chat e.g., too wet and slippery. Ensure the leaf blower batteries are returned to the chargers when the charge is low.
  4. There is NO sign-up required for Open Social Play. Depending on how many players arrive, set up enough nets to accommodate the number of people with the assistance of other players. If there is a different play format planned, check Sign Up Genius App in order to put out enough nets to accommodate the number of expected players.
  5. Set up the WIN, LOSE, NEXT cards for Open Social Play on the convener table and put the AED on the table in plain sight.
  6. When players arrive, check that all are wearing their shoe tags. NO one is allowed inside the court area or on the property unless they are a GBPC member, wearing a shoe tag. The tag indicates that the member is properly insured through PCO. Sometimes members of the public come to inquire about a membership. Please answer their questions to the best of your knowledge and encourage them to email the club for further information.
  7. Encourage court etiquette e.g., wait for a pause in a game before moving to the convener’s table and walk on the side of the courts with the least players.
  8. Only leave the nets up if there is good weather forecasted and you know there will be upcoming play. Release the tension on the nets by loosening the velcro straps. Ask all players to check their pockets for forgotten balls and return the balls to the ball holders.
  9. If the weather is questionable, take the nets down as the next time slot may be cancelled. Check for rain and strong winds. At the end of the day, take the nets down and put them away in the deck boxes.
  10. When leaving the courts, lock the court gate with the padlock, and return smaller items to the club house (e.g., AED, hand sanitizer, WIN, LOSE, NEXT Cards, leaf blower, squeegees etc.). Lock the club house by pressing the centre lock button. Check that the lock engaged. Little trick: Sometimes the lock will not engage. In this case, open the door, press the bolt on the latch and try again.
  11. If there are any issues on the courts (e.g., player conduct, facilities or equipment) please contact the club through the email grandbendpickleballclub@gmail.com.
  12. Cancelling a program or session: If there was a need to cancel a program due to the weather in the morning, the convener would post it on WhatsApp. The afternoon conveners would also monitor the weather and cancel as needed.
  13. All garbage and recycling are the responsibility of individual club members. Whatever members bring to the courts, leaves with them. Do not put the garbage pails outside of the club house. They are used for our BBQs ONLY and the Social Committee ensures the contents are removed.
  14. Members under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult i.e., parent, guardian or certified coach. All supervisors must be club members.
  15. The code is for use by club members who have been given permission to use the facility through this system and have submitted this sign-off sheet. Do not share the code provided by the club. If the code needs to be changed, you will be notified through the email.
  16. The guest policy applies only to Open Social Play time slots May 1 to Oct 31. The Court Convener will ensure a waiver is signed and the guest’s PCO membership is verified. There is a binder in the club house with the waivers. The fee is $5.
  17. If a major injury occurs, call 9-1-1. There is an incident report that must be completed within 7 (seven) days. A copy of the completed incident form will be automatically sent to the club email. If you need assistance with the form, please contact grandbendpickleballclub@gmail.com. All injury related forms can be found on our website under INJURY FORMS.

I understand that if I bring non-members to TRIDON Pickleball Courts or encourage non-members to enter the court area for any reason, my membership will be immediately revoked.
