Halifax Pickleball Club Learn to Play -- Saturdays from 12:30 to 2 pm (4 sessions starting June 13th -- scheduled to finish July 4 but with rain dates possible on July 11 and 18)

Ready to learn the fastest growing sport in North America? Looking to meet new people and get more active? Then this is the program for you. Our learn to play is suited to all ages and is run for small groups with two highly qualified coaches (both Level 2 NCCP) to ensure hands on learning and easy to follow instruction. Individuals registered before May 11 will be entered in a draw to win a Selkirk Amped paddle (draw to take place at our May 11 AGM).

Our skilled coach will take you through the basics of the game – including how to score, the rules of play, basic strategy, foundational shots, and how to choose a paddle. They will have you game ready and looking for more. And if (or should we say when?) you get hooked we have other programs for new players coming up soon so that you can continue to develop your game and keep moving.

All sessions will take place outside at Larry O'Connell park (6691 Fourth Street in Halifax, behind the ball diamond). Street parking is available on site. Players can bring their own paddle or use one provided by the coach. Wear court shoes with good treads, bring plenty of water, and we highly recommend the use of eye protection (sunglasses may also be required), a hat with a brim, and sunscreen.

Participants must be 19 or over. This program is open to both members and non-members – but members pay less for this program so consider joining (you can do so during the registration process, for less than $20 -- or less than $4 if you are already a Pickleball Nova Scotia member). This will get you access to our other programming and future events!

We have allowed for 2 rain dates -- Halifax Rec will not refund our court fees due to weather so if more than 2 sessions are rained out we will provide participants with a partial refund for the unused coaching time, but we cannot refund the portion that pays for courts. In all other circumstances registration fees are non-refundable (should you need to cancel we can try to find someone to fill your spot, and then would provide a partial refund less our administration fees, but there is no guarantee of this).
