Jamie Adjetey-Nelson won gold in the decathlon at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and had his Olympic Dream shattered at the 2012 Olympic Trials in Calgary. Adjetey-Nelson was in position to secure a berth to the London Olympic Games going into the final event of the decathlon (1500m). He had a 98 point lead over 2012 Olympic 4th place finisher and 2013 World Championship Bronze medalist Damien Warner before a hamstring injury on the second lap left him 728 points short of qualifying for the Olympics.
