KISH (Kensington Intermediate Senior High) and/or QEES (Queen Elizabeth Elementary School)

  1. Reach out to the Phys Ed teacher to request a specific date and time. If it is available, have them pencil it into the schedule.
  2. Print and complete the Community Use of Schools Agreement form.
  3. Bring the completed form to the school for the principal to approve and sign.
  4. Follow-up in a day or two to confirm that it was approved/signed and is solidly booked.

If making a request for a regular weekly night (or more) for the entire school year be sure to engage the school in late Aug or early Sep when the teachers are back as it's first come first served for reservations.  Only a single form will be needed for the entire year.

If making a request for a ad-hoc event then the process, including a completed form for the specific dates, will be needed each time.

KISH Outdoor Courts

The outdoor courts at KISH are open and free for public use.

The KPC has posted our summer events schedule on the fence as you enter the courts to indicate when we will all be gathering at the courts for our sessions.  However, we do not have a formal, exclusive right to the courts at those times.  Those are simply the times that we have chosen to come and play as a group.

In the event that others are already playing (basketball, tennis or pickleball) on some or all of the courts when we arrive we will use the courts as they become available. There is no expectation that other users stop their play due to our event.

While we are playing, if someone comes to play tennis/basketball we will apply a fair share model.  They play a game of tennis (for example) and then we get the court back for a game of pickleball and back and forth it goes.

Often, the other players (tennis/basketball) will play a little while and then realize that there are quite a few pickleballers waiting... so they end their play early and the court comes back to us.  Note that this is likely to happen but not required.

We all know that pickleball is awesome because it is fair, social, accessible and most of all fun... especially at the KPC... sharing the facility fairly is one way to make that obvious.
