Arrival and Departure Guidelines

At all of our pickleball sessions there is a need to setup the facility for play when we arrive and tear down when we depart.  This page is here to help all members understand what is required of them upon arrival and departure.

QEES

Arrival

At the start of the session the first players to arrive should take care of the initial setup of the gym including:

  • take a picture of the current facility condition and setup as a reference, and share it in the messenger chat.
  • from the back hallway
    • bring in the small desk along with the paddle buckets and place it between the two back doors
    • put a fresh sign-in sheet on the easel and set it up by the front door of the gym
    • set the drop-in collection can on the easel
  • assemble, position and tweak the nets to get them ready for play

All arriving members must sign-in BEFORE beginning play.

All arriving drop-ins must sign-in and pay BEFORE beginning play.

Departure

Teardown is obviously the opposite of setup with players who last play on a court taking responsibility for storing the net they were using.  Note that if storing the nets in the bag place the metal poles in the bag first and the rolled up net in the bag after the poles are in.  Putting the net in first increases the risk of a poll tearing the net.

All balls should be placed in the paddle buckets.

The small desk and paddle buckets are placed in the back hallway.

The easel is stored in the back hallway

The last few players to leave should:

  • Verify that the condition of the gym at this point is the same as the
pictures that were posted to the chat to start the session.
  • look to see if any items or garbage was left behind (and post information about it in our chat)
  • take any money left in the drop-in jar (and post a note about it in our chat)
  • turn off all lights and ensure the gym doors are closed (if you are last out)

When leaving, please remember to dispose of any garbage/recyclables in the bins provided by the facility and do a quick check to ensure you are taking all of your belongings.
