Arrival and Departure Guidelines

At all of our pickleball sessions there is a need to setup the facility for play when we arrive and tear down when we depart.  This page is here to help all members understand what is required of them upon arrival and departure.

Arrival

At the start of the session the first players to arrive should take care of the initial setup of the gym including:

  • setting up the folding table with the two paddle stacking boxes
  • laying out the sign-in binder and drop-in collection jar
  • assembling and positioning the nets

The first to arrive need not setup all nets on all courts. Instead, the first 1-4 players can setup one net and begin playing. Players 5-8 will setup the second net. Players 9+ will setup the third, fourth, etc nets.

All arriving players must sign-in BEFORE beginning play.

Non-Members who are dropping in for the session should be familiar with the KPC Drop-In Policy.

Departure

When leaving, please remember to dispose of any garbage/recyclables in the bins provided by the facility and do a quick check to ensure you are taking all of your belongings.

Teardown is obviously the opposite of setup with players who last play on a court taking responsibility for dismantling the net they were using.  Note that when storing the nets in the bag place the metal poles in the bag first and the rolled up net in the bag after the poles are in.  Putting the net in first increases the risk of a poll tearing the net.  Also, please remember to place the ball in the bag with the net.

The last few players to leave should:

  • look to see if any items or garbage was left behind (and post information about it in our chat)
  • take any money left in the drop-in jar (and post a note about it in our chat)
  • turn off all lights and ensure the gym doors are closed (if you are last out)
