PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ SURVEY RESULTS
PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ SURVEY RESULTS.
Thank you to everyone who filled out the Survey which PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ sent out early last winter. We were pleased with the number of responses. The numbers show that the membership is an engaged group. The survey gave us input into how we are performing as an organization, and what is important to you as a member, what we can improve upon, and ideas for going forward. We are a young organization, and some of the suggestions are already on our radar, and some we will be looking at down the road.
Something which we did know is that there are a lot of volunteers in the Pickleball community. Thank you to all the volunteers, no matter what role you play in supporting Pickleball. Some of you are interested in becoming more involved in the Provincial Pickleball organization. That is good news. We are presently short two members on our Board. If serving on the Board interests you, email peipickleballipe@gmail.com stating you experience and skills. or if your have any questions. The Board meets a once a month, usually virtually, except in the summer. There are a number of committees which the Board members are expected to participate.
The annual meeting is coming up in May or early June.
PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT
PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT.
PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ will be having a Provincial Tournament this year. This will be another first for PEI. The Tournament will be a sanctioned event. Pickleball Canada will provide some assistance. We are looking for volunteers to help with the planning and running of this event.
As I am sure most of you know, PEI PICKLEBALL ÎPÉ had their first Sanctioned Tournament on Dec 7 and 8 of 2024. It was a great success. A lot of work went in the planning to ensure that all the proper guidelines were met. Pickleball Canada and the Maritimes Pickleball Organizations were pleased that we have taken the step to start holding sanctioned Tournaments.
Thanks to the Tournament Director and all the volunteers and participants. The goal is to have another sanctioned Tournaments open to Atlantic players this year. The Pickleball players on PEI are great for participating in Tournaments. By opening the sanctioned Tournaments to the Atlantic region, it helps raise the level of play with tougher competition, and offers an opportunity to play against a larger pool of players.
