KARINA BRUNI
I have been playing pickleball for over two years and have a strong passion for the sport. I have 29 years of experience as a Realtor and a financial background (M.B.A.). As a result, I have attained strong business and social connections throughout the Soo. I have an enthusiastic demeanour and bring excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, complete work in a timely manner, collaborate well in team environments and have an aptitude for problem solving. I would love to help our club continue to grow and become the happiest and most welcoming place for our members to spend time. Our club has great potential, and I am eager to roll up my sleeves and help take it to the next level including the creation of a permanent indoor pickleball facility.
TAMMY FIEGEHEN
I bring leadership energy and a strong sense of community. I take action, follow through and am not afraid to step in and make things happen. Through organizing the Glow Party events and being actively involved in pickleball, I understand what brings people together and keeps them engaged.
I also helped coach the first ever Korah Collegiate & Vocational School high school pickleball team alongside Coach Chris Langshaw and Shannon Laird, leading the team to a gold medal win in the first High School Smash tournament. That experience showed me the power of teamwork, encouragement and creating opportunities for others to be part of something bigger.
I would also love to see an indoor pickleball facility become a reality in Sault Ste. Marie and am already part of the committee working toward making that happen. I am organized, creative and would like to see the club continue to grow in a positive and welcoming way. Most of all, I bring passion for the sport and love to give back to the community.
PATTY GREVE
As the current Membership Coordinator I care deeply about creating a welcoming connected experience for every member of our club. I’m excited to continue growing this role by strengthening communication, simplifying processes and making sure people feel seen and supported. With our shared goal of securing a permanent home a milestone that will shape our future, I’m committed to helping build a strong inclusive foundation that reflects the spirit and heart of our pickleball community.
BRIAN JANVEAU
Retired Physical Education teacher, coach, instructor, event coordinator. Sports and social activity enthusiast !
Actively promoting all sports participation at ALL ability levels. Soo Curling Club member.
JOEL JONES
Currently, a Full Time Pickleball Player, Instructor and Coach. I am playing and teaching throughout Ontario, learning from others as this sport evolves. I have been obsessed with all things Pickleball for 2 years now, to the point that I have made it my life. I may represent a more advanced group with my playing ability, but as I am familiar with players of all skill levels through my teaching, I have a unique perspective on all aspects of SooPickleball and Pickleball Ontario. You would be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable about the sport and business of Pickleball in Northern Ontario.
ANDY KRUMINS
Ability and willingness to organize leagues, tournaments and other events to bring together pickleball players.
SHANNON LAIRD
I am dependable, reliable and always willing to step in and help wherever needed. I have volunteered at all of the glow events and have also supported tournaments and the skills rating committee, helping to ensure an enjoyable season for all players. I am passionate about growing the sport especially working toward a year round indoor facility and I am committed to supporting the board as it continues to develop. I have also helped Soo Pickleball with skill level placement making sure players are grouped in the right levels. I bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine care for the community.
LUKE MACMICHAEL
I’m a financially independent semi-retired 46 year old with a lot of free time and a strong passion for Pickleball. I have a strong desire to see permanent indoor courts somewhere in the city and may be willing to invest myself if we can find a way to make the numbers work somehow.
JIM MONICO
I am relatively new to the sport of pickleball, but I have several years of volunteer experience in the sporting world. 35 years of coaching football and still going . 7 years as president of the Soo Minor Football Association - Current member of the Sault Amateur Football Association board - Lots of experience as a team member and leader.
CHRIS VILLENEUVE
I have a crippling addiction to pickleball. Would love to see our little community grow and thrive. A nurse by profession which doesn't directly relate to pickleball but does build a lot of professional and interpersonal skills. And while I don't currently hold any certificates or qualifications that directly lead to helping the pickleball organization, do you believe I could be an asset depending on the relevant skills you're looking for. I think one area I would like to assist with is developing our growing organizations skills and competitive aspect. Although, I wouldn't mind helping Soo Pickleball in general.
SHELAGH YANNI
My past experience with Soo Pickleball began with updating the website and creating the now busy social pages. I have continued to being the go-to for running indoor play at Tech and for providing communication to all members. I enjoy meeting all players and being involved with teaching new beginners to help grow the pickleball community. I would love to continue to work with any new and existing Board members to help shape the future of Soo Pickleball!
