The 2026 Horseshoe Valley Pickleball season starts on April 24th!
Here is all the important information you need to get your season started.
Court Scheduling
The Township of Oro-Medonte was pleased with our scheduling efforts last year, which effectively balanced Horseshoe Valley Pickleball (HVPB) member playtime with public court access. As a result, no major changes have been made to our allocated court times for this season.
As our club and membership continue to grow, we have worked to create a schedule that fairly distributes court time. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we strive to optimize sessions for everyone. Our goal is to offer a diverse range of play opportunities throughout the week.
In addition to our very popular Men’s and Women’s Competitive Ladders, we have added a block of time for a self-directed Set Partner Competitive Round Robin on Thursday nights. Stay tuned for a start date and sign up information. We have also added an Open Play category for all skill levels. This will accommodate partners and friends who want to play together but are at different skill levels.
Skill Level & Self-Assessment
In alignment with Pickleball Canada, Pickleball Ontario, and tournament standards, we will continue using a numerical self-assessment skill level system for scheduling.
To help members choose the appropriate level, we have added descriptive labels alongside the numeric ratings.
Playing within the correct skill level helps maintain safe, fair, competitive, and enjoyable games for everyone.
Open Play Court time for players of all levels. Courts may be split by skill level or utilize our Pickleball Canoes found in the shed.
Intermediate ( 3.0 +) Competitive play geared toward developing consistency, strategy, and confidence.
Strong Intermediate ( 3.4 +) Competitive play with emphasis on rally control, shot selection, and teamwork. This is expected to be the largest group.
Advanced Competitive (3.7+) Fast-paced, aggressive play for experienced players. Focus on advanced strategies, partner coordination, and high-level point construction.
Equipment & Shed Access
Shed Code:
Equipment will be available starting April 24th
Please do not share the shed code with non-members, as all equipment is purchased for HVPB members only.
Public players using courts designated for public time (shown in yellow on the schedule) must bring their own equipment or may use the town net located in the bin beside the shed.

Shoe Tags/Swish App
We have opted not to issue shoe tags for the 2026 season. If you have purchased a shoe tag we will contact you with options for a refund.
As many of you may know, Swish has started charging for the use of their app. After researching the available options, we have come to the conclusion that Swish is really the best app to assist our volunteers in managing our Men’s and Women’s Ladders. Therefore HVPB will be subscribing to Swish, for the minimum six month period, and offering it to our club members.
Guests
We love welcoming new players! If you'd like to bring a guest, please follow this simple protocol:
Guests MUST be accompanied by a registered HVPB member.
Guests may attend up to two sessions per season.Guests MUST sign the Guest Waiver Form. This
waiver form can be printed from our website or copies are located in the blue binder in the HVPB shed.
Signed Guest Waiver Forms should be stored in the blue binder in the shed.
Guests DO NOT have access to the HVPB member insurance policy.
Members are responsible for their guest's conduct and ensure they follow all club rules.
A copy of this policy will also be posted on the bulletin board located on the side of the shed. Please note that our guest policy is intended for out-of-town guests ONLY.
If you feel you have a special circumstance please don’t hesitate to contact a board member for guidance.
We ask that members strictly adhere to our Guest Policy as non-compliance affects our Pickleball Canada member insurance.

Respect for Shared Multipurpose Courts
We play on a shared multipurpose pad, and our schedule is determined by the Township.
