OUR MISSION/OUR VISION
Pickleball Club of Grey Highlands (“PGH”) is a community member-run, non-profit club of pickleball enthusiasts.
Our Mission is to play, promote and develop the game in the Municipality of Grey Highlands and surrounding areas.
Our Main Goal is to deliver pickleball activities for children, youth and adults by creating programs focused on participation and development, of both a recreational and competitive nature.
Our Hope is to become an effective, united and recognized voice for pickleball in our community.
Our Guiding Principles are as follows, taken from the Quality Sport principles of Sport for Life:
- Conduct good programs developmentally appropriate, participant-centered, progressive, challenging and well-planned.
- Engage good people who are caring and knowledgeable as program leaders.
- Promote good places that create good feelings, that are inclusive, welcoming, fun, fair and safe.
Our 7 Core Values: fair play, respect, integrity, honesty, transparency, inclusivity, and safety.
PGH is a supportive member of both Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada and will foster further alliances with local public and private partners to facilitate the growth of the game, with a particular eye to finding, building, establishing dedicated outdoor and indoor club facilities in Grey Highlands.
Our Initiatives: (without limiting any other actions that may support growth of pickleball locally)
- Attain status for PGH as an affiliated club with Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada
- Secure access to currently available potential pickleball facilities locally
- Seek to establish positive, complimentary relationships with existing pickleball activities in Markdale, Feversham and Flesherton
- Promote the development of new local pickleball venues, both indoor and outdoor
- Enhance public awareness and introduce new players to the game
- Conduct programs to encourage youth participation
- Conduct programs structured for players who seek to improve themselves through organized play in a recreational environment
- Conduct programs structured for players who seek to improve themselves through organized play in a competitive environment
- Facilitate opportunities for those who seek to become pickleball instructors and coaches
