WHO WE ARE
Pickleball Grey Highlands began as the initiative of six local Pickleball enthusiasts. An ad hoc
steering committee was formed in early 2023 under the leadership of
Wayne Bumstead with the intent of creating a new model for the purpose
of advancing the sport of Pickleball in Grey Highlands and the
surrounding area. In just a few weeks, the steering committee succeeded
in obtaining affiliated club status with Pickleball Canada and
Pickleball Ontario.
The Club's membership is growing as word gets around and the many benefits of pickleball are being embraced. The main barrier to growth is the lack of proper, dedicated facilities. We are focused on the future of local pickleball for players of all ages. We intend to continue the work that has been started, to grow the game, in a fair, fun, safe way.
In November 2025, the Pickleball Club of Grey Highlands's Board of Directors was formed by acclamation at the third Annual General Meeting. The members are:
- Karen Alton (President)
- Paul de van der Schueren (Treasurer)
- Nancy D'Amico (Executive Secretary)
- Doug Alton (Director, Facilities)
- Lorna Rintamaki (Director, Membership)
- Kate McIntyre (Director, Socials)
- Janet Pounder (Director, Interclub Relations)
