Columbia Park Pickleball Courts Revitalization
With the increased interest in the game of pickleball in Revelstoke, court space and time were experiencing increased demand. The Columbia Park pickleball courts had been neglected for some time and were in need of repairs and a refresh. The safety of the players was increasingly at risk and the playability of the surfaces was compromised.
The Revelstoke Pickleball Club set about upgrading the courts in two phases. First, the major surface cracks were eliminated by excavating the asphalt and replacing and repaving the affected areas. The work was performed by Valley Blacktop in 2023. Second, the courts were completely refreshed through a process of washing, grinding, taping, sealing, and painting. This work was performed by Tomko Sports in 2024. We are extremely happy with the results of the work by these two companies. What a transformation!
Funding for this revitalization project was provided by Peace Hills Insurance (through Revelstoke Credit Union Insurance), the City of Revelstoke Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department, Revelstoke Credit Union, and the Revelstoke Pickleball Club. We appreciate the incredible financial support from these partners.
Club members, guests, and visitors to Revelstoke have thoroughly enjoyed playing on the revitalized courts.
