Important Information
Dear SLPC Members,
We are pleased to share an important update about our winter pickleball options at DeGroot’s. With the help of SLPC volunteers, we will be installing the four roll-out courts at DeGroot’s on December 1st and 2nd, with play beginning Wednesday, December 3rd. These are the same matted courts we used with great success last year.
Court Reservations & SLPC Discount
DeGroot’s will be taking all court reservations directly through their website. You will see a tab for the Pickle Planner reservation software which should be up and running the last week of November. SLPC members can create an account and enter their five-digit PCO number to receive the SLPC discounted rate.(see 4 steps at the bottom of this email). You only need to do this once if you are registered for 2026 — after that, your discount will apply automatically when you book. If you don't renw your SLPC membership now, you will need to register again in 2026.
Court Rates
- Public: $20 per hour per court
- SLPC Members: $14 per hour per court
This negotiated rate gives our members meaningful savings. For example, saving $6/hour translates to $12 saved every time you play a two-hour session — which can more than cover the cost of renewing your Pickleball Canada membership.
Hours of Operation
- Monday to Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Initially, court bookings will be offered in 1-hour time slots.
Why This Is a Great Deal for SLPC Members
While DeGroot’s courts are open to the public, our SLPC rate offers a clear advantage. By being members, you don’t just save on court time — you also enjoy year-round benefits like programming, mentoring, tournaments, leagues, and the sense of community that comes with SLPC. Your membership brings value beyond just discounted play.
Thank-You to DeGroot’s Nursery
We’re deeply appreciative of DeGroot’s Nursery. Their support has been instrumental since the beginning, and this partnership continues to be a big win for our club.
How to Look Up Your PCO Number
- Go to Pickleball Canada’s website and click “Login” to access the Pickleball Canada National System (PCNS).
- After logging in, go to “My Registrations” (or a similar section) to view your existing membership record.
- Your PCO number (sometimes called your Pickleball Canada membership number) should be visible there.
- Copy or write down your PCO number — you’ll need it when you create your account on DeGroot’s site to access the discounted rate.
See you on the courts soon!
Warm regards,
Sarnia-Lambton Pickleball Club

We are excited to share that work on our new pickleball home will begin October 1st with completion targeted for the end of October. This project is only possible with the support of our amazing volunteers, and we are now gathering names and skillsets of those who can lend a hand.
We are starting a new list, so please reply even if you have offered to help in the past. This will ensure we have all the names we need in one place moving forward.
If you are able to help, please reply to tortifamily4@gmail.com (Project Manager: Tony Torti). When replying, kindly include:
- The area(s) where you can contribute (see list below)
- Your availability during October
- Any tools you can bring (e.g., roller poles for painting, scaffolding, etc.)
Volunteer Needs:
- Demolition – Vestibule demo and moving reception desk (desks, windows, and doors will be salvaged or sold).
- HVAC Ductwork – Assisting with moving ducting to the end of the room.
- Lighting Replacement – Helping convert lights to LED modules on dimmers.
- Painting – Painting walls a darker colour all around the room (8–10 ft high).
