4-Week Guided Play - Indoor Program

We’re excited to announce a 4-session indoor Pickleball Program designed specifically for advanced beginners / novice players (about 2.5 to 3.0) who know the basic rules and are ready to play smarter. Led by Certified MPC Coaches, each session is built around coached gameplay: lots of time on court, short focused coaching, and practical feedback you can use on the very next point. You'll learn not just what to improve, but why a shot or decision isn't working and what to do about it.

• Duration: 4-Session Series
• Schedule: TUESDAYS, Nov 3, 10, 17 and 24
• Time: 8:15 PM – 10:15 PM
• Location: Indoor venue at William Berczy Public School, 120 Carlton Rd. Unionville ON, L3R 1Z9

• Parking is available on the west side of William Berczy Public School.

Spots Available: 12 participants max (3 courts, 4 per court, 2 coaches)

Fee:

• MPC Members: $120 + HST ($30 per session + HST)
• Non-Members: $140 + HST ($35 per session + HST)

Is This Program for You?

Please register if you can say yes to all of these:

• I know the basic rules: the two bounce rule, kitchen rules, and common faults.
• I can call the score in doubles and know where to stand when serving and receiving.
• I can serve into the correct box most of the time and keep a short rally going.
• I have played doubles before (for example, completed Learn to Play or play regularly at drop in).

You don't need a reliable third shot drop, great dinks, or a formal rating yet. That's what we'll work on. Tennis, badminton or squash player? If you know the rules and scoring, you're welcome even with limited pickleball games. Still learning the rules? Consider our Learn to Play clinics as the perfect place to start.

What You'll Work On

Guided Play is about playing better, not just hitting better. Every session is built around real games, with coaches helping you see what's happening in a point and why.

• Build Consistency: keep more balls in play, with the control and margin to hold up when the rally gets tough
• Spot Opportunities: recognize the ball you can attack, and the moment your team can move forward
• See Trouble Coming: notice when a point is turning against you, and reset it instead of forcing it
• Be in the Right Place: know where to be as the point develops, move up when the ball allows, and avoid getting caught in no man's land
• Play as a Team: communicate early, cover the middle, and back each other up
• Understand Your Own Game: learn why a shot or decision isn't working, and how to fix it yourself

Coaches track your progress across all 4 weeks, so each session builds on the last, even with a different coach. You'll also do a quick reflection on your game in Week 1 and again in Week 4, so you can see how far you've come. By the end, you'll feel better prepared and more confident in recreational play.

Attendance & Substitutions

There are no refunds for missed sessions. If you can't attend, you may propose a suitable replacement player (about 2.5 to 3.0). Please notify us at info@markhampickleballclub.ca at least 24 hours before the session; all replacements must be approved. If you don't have someone, MPC may offer your spot to an eligible player on the waitlist. Payment is arranged directly between you and your substitute (for example, by Interac eTransfer). Can't get a spot? Join the waitlist and we'll offer you any open sessions.

What to Bring:

• Your paddle, indoor non-marking court shoes, a water bottle (a water bottle filling station is on-site), and eye protection (recommended).

This program offers a welcoming space to reinforce fundamentals, build confidence, and enjoy coached play with fellow learners.

Led by Certified MPC Coaches, each session includes skill-building drills and guided games tailored to your pace and progress.
