Blind River Pickleball Club
We would like to announce the grand opening of our new dedicated pickleball courts located on Indiana Avenue, just east of the community centre. On Thursday August 10th, approximately 40 members of our community participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony. We listened to speeches from Sally H (our Mayor), Dick H (Tennis Director), Karen B (Director of Facilities and Community Services), Linda R and Fred N (Co-Chairs of the Pickleball Club). After the formalities, 26 Pickleball enthusiasts took to the courts for some friendly competitive play. For more details, please click on the link, “New Pickleball Courts”.
Who we are.
We are a group of Pickleball enthusiasts who meet throughout the year and enjoy friendly competitive play.
During the outdoor season (May to September) we play on new dedicated courts on Indiana Avenue, just east of the community centre. Our schedule for outdoor play runs six days a week from Monday to Saturday. Several different leagues have been established to accommodate players of different levels of ability. We are in the process of establishing weekly clinics to help our membership improve their racquet skills.
During the indoor season (October to April) we meet Wednesday evenings at 7pm. We are currently using Jeunesse-Nord’s gymnasium. We use all six Pickleball courts which will accommodate up to 24 players. We use a rotational system that allows all players equal access to the courts.
