Dauphin Pickleball Club

House Rules & Court Etiquette

  1. If you don't know them, introduce yourself to your opponents and greet them before starting the game.
  2. The team closest to the door/entry will serve first.
  3. Adjust your game when playing with less skilled or Novice players.
  4. Avoid always playing to the weaker player.
  5. Call the score before every serve and call the lines (in or out) loudly enough so that your opponents can hear you.
  6. Call “ball” immediately if your ball rolls onto another court. Do not run onto the other court to retrieve it.
  7. When a ball rolls onto your court, stop play immediately and pass the ball directly back to a player on the correct court.  You can then re-serve your last rally if needed.
  8. After the game, meet at the net and thank your opponents or say, "good game".  Gently tap paddles or shake hands or bump fists.
  9. Exit the court immediately after your game to allow waiting players to play next.
    1. At Barker School, when a court is vacated all players who have not yet finished their games are asked to please shift down to the next court furthest from the door before starting your next rally.  This is in order to let the people waiting take the court closest to the door and benches.
    2. When exiting the Barker School court, please walk around the outside of the courts and take the ball back to the benches for the waiting players to use.
    3. Waiting players at Barker School are to use the court closest to the door and benches when you start your game.
  10. HAVE FUN! Pickleball is not just exercise, it is a social event - enjoy it!
