Gameplay:

  • Players of equal ability will play for each team. For example, the two 4.0 players from the Red team will play the two 4.0 players from the Green team. Scores will be submitted at the end of the match. In total the two teams will play 4 matches.
  • Players must decide whether they want to play the left service box or right service box for the entire game. The odd score will always serve from the left side and the even score from the right. At 20 points the team must be on their serve to win the match.
  • In the event of a tie, there will be a “Dreambreaker match” to determine the winning team. Dreambreaker is a team match. Two players will play 4 points and then switch to two other players and so on through all 4 pairs.

Prizes: Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams.

Note: Lunch will be provided at the courts. Please let us know if you or any of your team have food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Markham Food Bank

Our club has set a goal to raise over $30,000. All funds raised will be donated to the Markham Food Bank. The excerpt below best describes their need:

“Nearly 40 per cent of Ontario food banks have reduced the amount of food they provide to clients as they struggle to keep up with escalating demand, a new report says.

"While food banks are doing their best to keep doors open and shelves full, the unprecedented need for food bank support has outpaced their capacity and the resources available to deliver these services," the report says.
