KPC Aces

When numbers support it, we may trigger a game of KPC Aces at one of our regular sessions.  Here is an overview of KPC Aces...

How Aces is played.

At the beginning, players will randomly get a playing card... either a ten, jack, queen, king or ace.

For round one:

  • Red Tens play Black Tens on the Tens (10) court
  • Red Jacks play Black Jacks on the Jacks (J) court
  • Red Queens play Black Queens on the Queens (Q) court
  • Red Kings play Black Kings on the Kings (K) court
  • Red Aces play Black Aces on the Aces court

After the each round, players who win move up a court while players who lose move down a court. Aces court winners stay on the Aces Court. Tens Court losers stay on the Tens Court.

For the start of the next round, partners are split so that you never play back to back games with the same player.

First serve will be decided by a coin toss.

All courts start play simultaneously and play for 8 minutes.

If a ball is in play when the timer expires you can finish the point.

The team with the highest score when the timer expires are the winners.

If tied, continue to serve one final time and apply rally scoring where the winner of that rally is awarded a point and wins the game.
