Play Sign Up

We are asking for signups for Competitive, Evening, Gentle, Ladies, and Level Play. We ask that if you signup that you stay for the entire session as play is scheduled assuming you will be there for the entire session.

Signup links for Evening and Morning Sessions are below and will be updated every Saturday. The links will be active at 8am on Sunday for the next week.

Evening Play for May 5 and 7

Morning Play for May 5 through 10

If you signup and then cannot make it, please remove yourself from that session to allow people on the waitlist to play. To remove yourself, you can use the link below, or your email confirmation will contain a link to cancel your signup.

For Ladies' Play, we ask that you sign up for a maximum of two sessions per week so as many players as possible can participate in the fun.

RDN Definition of Competitive and Gentle Play

We are going to try something new to start this year based on feedback from our members. We are going to be offering Competitive and Gentle Play sessions. We are using the RDN definition of Competitive and Gentle Play. Play during Competitive and Gentle Play will be Round Robin similar to the way Ladies' Play.

RDN Competitive Play

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) offers a Competitive Pickleball program tailored for players seeking a faster-paced, skill-focused environment. This program is designed for individuals aged 16 and older who possess prior experience and are comfortable with advanced gameplay strategies. Sessions emphasize structured play, allowing participants to engage with others at a similar skill level in a more competitive setting.

RDN Gentle Play

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) offers a Gentle Pickleball program designed for adults seeking a relaxed and low-impact approach to the game. This program is ideal for beginners, older adults, or those recovering from injuries who prefer a slower-paced, non-competitive environment. It emphasizes friendly play, lighter movement, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Volunteers

POPS needs your assistance to set up and take down the next at the beginning and end of every session. POPS would like to have two people responsible for set up and two people responsible for take down. For set up, the people are responsible for getting the equipment out of our storage locker and for take down, the people are responsible for putting the equipment away. Please use the following links to sign up.

Set Up

Take Down

Even if you cannot sign up for set up or take down, you can assist in getting the nets set up or taken down before or at the end of a session. Just show up and we are sure the people who signed up will appreciate the help!

Social Play Rally Point

During social play, when 12 or more players are waiting to play, Rally Point Scoring will be announced and all new games will be played as Rally Point Play until there are 8 or less players waiting to play. Rally Point Play is:

  • One server per side (even score serve starts from right, odd score server starts from left).
  • One point awarded per server.
  • Play to 15 points, win by one.
