Team Manitoba Triumphs with Bronze at the Inaugural Provincial Team Competition
The Myoflex National Pickleball Championships made history on August 21h, 2025, at the
Taylor Tennis Club in Winnipeg, with the launch of the first-ever Provincial Team Competition
(PTC)—and Team Manitoba made sure the hometown crowd had something to cheer about.
Six provinces—British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and
Quebec—assembled all-star squads for a thrilling one-day round robin showdown, each vying
for national bragging rights. Teams were composed of ten matchups across men’s and women’s
doubles, mixed doubles, and singles in two age categories: 49 and under, and 50 and over.
Round Robin Resilience
Team Manitoba came out swinging, showcasing depth, determination, and dazzling play across
all divisions. After five intense rounds, Manitoba landed in third place with 24 points, just one
heartbreaking point shy of second-place Ontario. British Columbia led the pack with 32
points, while Alberta followed with 17. Saskatchewan and Quebec rounded out the standings in
a tie for fifth.
Bronze Medal Battle
In the playoff round, Manitoba faced off against Alberta in a nail-biting bronze medal match.
With every rally fiercely contested, Team Manitoba edged out Alberta 27–25, clinching the
bronze in dramatic fashion.
