Do we make a profit? A small profit which gets fed back into the Bursary Program, dollars for members who have received their NCCP certification, for subsidizing youth pickleball, for granting dollars to Municipalities for sound attenuation panels and for prizes at mini tournaments to name just a few areas where The Associations dollars go. In addition, we pay our instructors a decent hourly wage. VRPA operates through volunteer effort - endless volunteer hours put in by your Board and VRPA volunteers. VRPA is the reason that the free pickleball courts exist in Beacon Hill Park, that you have a Regional Pickleball Strategy and that there will be a decent amount of free play time in Topaz Park. You are encouraged to put your name forward for the Board so that you can examine closely how programs are priced – maybe you have a better idea on how we price programs – new ideas are welcome. Or, you could assist with the facilities management and help us get better pricing at our venues. Opportunities are endless for you to become part of the solution.
VRPA organizes high quality, affordable programs (both instructional and non-instructional) at various times throughout the year. Emails are sent out to all VRPA members with information about when and how to register. We offer lessons for beginner to advanced players and we also offer non-instructional programs such as partner-play programs, a King of the Court style program and coach-supervised play. We use SignupGenius for registrations. You don't need a SignupGenius account in advance as you can access the info by clicking the link we send once registration opens. Our programs are very popular and fill up fast. We are continually searching for more court space so we can add more programs and keep up with the high demand.
Please see link IPTPA Skill Rating Assessment to ensure you register for a program within your skill level.
