Meeting Minutes
Welcome & Introductions: Debby Morgan called the meeting to order at 6:10pm; Vandy Britton did a territorial acknowledgement. Debby introduced the people on the ad hoc executive who were sitting with her (Marion, Bernita, Hazel, Liz, Vandy)
President’s Report (Debby Morgan): Debby shared the history of how the club developed to where we are currently at.
Treasurer’s Report (Marion Bonner): Marion shared her report. $2,286.71
Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Motion by Marion Bonner; seconded by Vandy Britton. Treasurer’s report approved.
Election of the new executive. Vandy Britton ran the elections.
President – Debby Morgan was nominated. She accepted the nomination. Acclaimed.
Vice -President – no nominations. Currently vacant.
Secretary – Heather Winnichuk was nominated. She accepted the nomination. Acclaimed.
Treasurer – Marion Bonner was nominated. She accepted the nomination. Acclaimed
Members at large – Barbar Khalid Kelly Cannon, Bernita Boersma, and Barb Hiemstra were all nominated and accepted the nominations. Acclaimed.
General Discussion – continued frustration that we have no dedicated indoor or outdoor facilities for pickleball. Considered possibilities of what could be achieved, including reaching out to the Justice Institute for indoor space and making a presentation to the Mayor and Council, asking for the lacrosse box at Moody Park to be resurfaced. People have serious concerns about the proximity of the Hume Park courts to the nearby residences. The general consensus is that the money would be better spent elsewhere.
