Welcome to Chilliwack Pickleball Club

The Vision of the Chilliwack Pickleball Club is to provide a safe and inclusive environment where members can participate in the sport of pickleball.

Live, love, play Pickleball

The Chilliwack Pickleball Club (CPC) was established in April 2017 and presently has over 480 members with scheduled play 6 days a week on 14 indoor courts.

We are delighted to have the largest indoor Pickleball facility in the Fraser Valley of BC. We foster a wonderful form of exercise for adults and all players above age 12.

Indoor Play: The Landing, 45530 Spadina Ave, Chilliwack
- Visitors: We try to welcome visitors from other clubs whenever possible. Our club is currently at capacity, and we have limited times available at the Landing Sports Center. We prioritize play for our members, so it is not always possible to have visitors play. Some of our playing formats are for members only. Please contact us for more information if you wish to play. Please see other places to play on this page for drop-in play.
Members must sign up on www.pickleballsignuphub.com to play. (Times are subject to change as often the City of Chilliwack will cancel or change our hours of operation).

Play sessions occur on most Monday-Saturdays. Please click on the CALENDAR button on the left side scroll down menu to see the current month's available play times.

Orientation sessions are limited for a variety of reasons: There are 2 orientation sessions per month as follows
- Saturday March 15, 2025 6:15 pm till 8:15 pm.
- Thursday March 27, 2025 6:30 pm till 8:30 pm
- You must pre-arrange attendance. You cannot just show up for an orientation. Send a request to president@chillpb.com

Note: The courts at Kinsmen Park (Portage) are permanently closed.

Chilliwack Mayday Team Challenge

CPC Mayday Team Challenge

Winning Team from each bracket receives $100 each Player

Maximum 24 Teams consisting of 2 Men & 2 Women.

Teams will be split into 4 brackets by average team rating based on DUPR ratings.

Only the Captain needs to register their team. In the event a sub is needed it will be the captain’s responsibility to find a sub who fits the guidelines stated below.

When: Sat May 10^th, 2025

Where: The Landing

Time: Bracket 1 & 2 (8.30am-1.30pm). Bracket 3 & 4 (2.00pm-7.00pm)

Cost $250 per team. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Registration Deadline:- April 26^th, 2025

NB: CPC Members will have priority registration until Mar 2^nd, 2025.

Format

4 Teams consisting of 2 men & 2 Women.

There cannot be more than a 1 point rating differential between the highest and lowest rated player on the team. (Based on DUPR ratings)

Games:- Round Robin

1 x Women’s Doubles, 1 x Men’s Doubles & 2 x Mixed Doubles.

Rally Scoring to 21 (Win by 2). Must win on your serve. NB: New 2025 Rally Scoring rules will be used.

1 point for each game won.

Tie Breaker

If there is a tie for first place then a “Dreambreaker” Singles challenge will determine the winner. Each member of the team will rotate thru their roster for 4 points.

Rules
1. One team puts their roster up and then the second team decides their roster.
2. Teams will toss to decide to act or react. Then the other team will have choice of side or serve.
3. 2 x 1min Timeouts per team per game.
4. Coaching anytime is allowed but games will not stop unless a timeout is called.
5. Team Captain has final say of the lineups.
6. There cannot be more than a 1 point rating differential between the highest and lowest rated player on the team. (Based on DUPR ratings)
7. Subs must not have a higher rating than the player they are replacing and must meet the parameters of the 1 point rating differential between the lowest and highest player on their team.
Other Information

Players do not need to be CPC Members

Each Match will start with the Men & Women’s Doubles which will run at the same time followed by Mixed Doubles.

Scores will not be entered into DUPR but you may enter themselves if all members in the match agree.

Please stay for the entire duration of the tournament and support your team players.

Spectators are more than welcome.

Registration on Pickleball Canada. Only team captain needs to register and submit payment.

Team roster and team name must be submitted to Tournament Director by April 26^th, 2025.

Chilliwack Budget & Pickleball

The City of Chilliwack 2022 Budget was recently released, and I attended the City Council meeting this week where the details were announced. I'm sure club members are aware your board of directors has been lobbying council for some time to have an outdoor pickleball facility built in the community. At this meeting council announced they have included $300,000.00 for outdoor pickleball courts in this year's budget.

We previously were given a choice by the city of courts in Yarrow to be built in 2022, or courts on Fairfield Island in 2027, and we presented that choice to club members in the form of a survey. Club members voted in favour of the Yarrow location by a large majority.

At the council meeting this week it became very apparent the residents of Yarrow are strongly opposed to pickleball courts being built in that community. The Mayor and several Councillors also seemed to oppose that location as well. I have been in contact with City Staff this week and a new location is being sought. The CPC Board will lobby for a central location for the new courts. It appears suitable property for the construction is an issue.

So, it's one step forward and half a step back.......but we are making progress! I hope to have these courts built prior to the end of summer.

Winter Ladder League

Our Fifth Annual Ladder League play starts Monday January 6th, 2025.

It will run for 6 weeks. Registration is open on www.pickleballsignuphub.com Every level of player is welcome. Format will be groups of 4-6 with other players of a similar skill level.

Cost : Normal fob In plus $10 for door prizes.

CPC Adopt a Trail

Chilliwack Adopt A Trail Program

The Chilliwack Pickleball Club has been accepted into the Adopt A Trail Program. Our club has been assigned a section of the Vedder River Trail from Webster Road to Lickman Road. Signs have been posted and a clean up events will be forthcoming.
