Global Pickleball Network Sign Up Instructions
Global Pickleball Network (GPN) is being used to administer PRI programs hosted indoor at the Queen City Pickleball Hub and outdoors at the Mahon & Douglas Park courts. All players participating in the programs will be required to create a GPN account. To help you with this, we have created the following guide. If you need more assistance please reach us at membership@pickleballregina.ca, or stop by the front desk at the QCPH for any questions you might have.
The steps to register are:
- Join the QCPH Players Network
- Join the Groups & Ladders that interest you
- RSVP each week to reserve your spot
Join the QCPH Players Network
If you are already a member of the QCPH Players network, skip to the next section.
The first thing to do is join the QCPH Players network. Use the following link to create your account and join the network:
*Note that a Premium GPN account is not required, but it does provide some additional functionality you may be interested in and helps support the site.
Join Groups & Ladders
Once you are a member of the QCPH Players Network, you will then need to join the appropriate PRI Groups in GPN. Go to the Groups section in GPN and request to join the PRI Members Group and the PRI Players Group(s) that best suits your playing level. Once a member of a group, you will then be able to opt into the related events. Note that some groups require a certain minimum PRI/QCPH club rating to join, and others are marked [Private] as they are managed by individual organizers.
The following groups are related to the QCPH/PRI Programs:
- 2023 PRI Members
- 2023 PRI Recreational Players
- 2023 PRI Intermediate Players
- 2023 PRI Advanced Players
*There are also similar groups for those that have registered for the outdoor programs. PRI will add you to the applicable outdoor groups within 24 hours of your outdoor registration.
The ladder programs will continue to be administered through GPN. Unlike Pickleball Brackets (PB) that uses your rating to determine ladder placement, a separate point system is used to track progress and is automatically calculated as scores get entered after each session. It's important to note that ladder play will never negatively impact your club rating. For more information on club ratings, click here.
To sign up for a ladder, go to the Leagues section of GPN, and look for the 2023 Competitive Ladders. From here you should see a green “Sign up” button that will allow you to select the ladders you are interested in.
The following Ladders are available:
- Intermediate Team Ladder
- Advanced Team Ladder
- Men’s Ladder
Weekly RSVPs
This is perhaps the most important part of the process - all players must RSVP each week for any sessions they plan to attend. This allows us to manage court bookings appropriately. Registration opens 6 days in advance, space is typically limited, and wait list functionality is built into GPN in case a spot comes available.
In GPN “Events” are created for each program session. There are many ways to find the event you are interested in, they are listed below Groups, Ladders, in the Events section and other places.
The quickest method may be to:
- Go to the QCPH Players Network homepage
- Scroll down to the “NETWORK CALENDAR” section with the yellow monthly calendar
- Select the day you want to play
- Then select the Event you are interested in and update your RSVP
