PADDLES for PADS Charity Tournament - Saturday, April 20 - Registration Now Open

  • Pickleball BC invited all pickleball communities and clubs to host their own charity event with proceeds going to the Pacific Assistance Dogs (PADS). The DPA board has been working hard and can report we will be holding a fun MLP tournament along with other games for every member to join.  MLP (Major League Pickleball) consists of teams of 4 competing in standard pickleball Doubles and Mixed Doubles games. The tournament will be open for registration to the first 96 DPA members (48 men/women).  We will be contributing to this great charity and Pickleball BC expects that with over 17,000 members in BC will be participating in a record-breaking day of Pickleball across the province and maybe even across the country!  Currently, we are looking for volunteers to help make this a great charity event! If you can volunteer, please email director Meriam Larbes at pads@deltapickleball.org.

Tournament Format Information
MLPlayâ„¢ is an innovative gameplay format that brings men and women together on a level playing court. In the MLPlay format team matches are composed of four 21-point games (win by 2) with modified rally scoring.

For ease of our fun fundraiser events all games will be played to either 11 points or at the end of the 10 minutes, the team with the highest total score wins. The first game will be women's doubles/men's doubles, followed by one game consisting of mixed doubles. You will then repeat the same agaisn't a different team. One final game will be played by all team members with a Final Round. You are guaranteed a total of 5 games.

This unique dynamic means that teamwork as a skill is just as critical as speed or technique on the court and a big part of the community aspect of the sport!Hope to see all DPA members there!

NOTE: Teams will be created based on players PTS play level and may be subject to change by Tournament Director. Please correct your play level to accurately reflect the current ratings. Click here for the Pickleball Canada Self Assessment Chart
