Court Etiquette & Rotation
Importance of Court Etiquette at MPC
MPC is an inclusive and fair club. In fact, this is one of our core values.
When members come alone to play and there are a few foursomes already on the courts, it is expected that after their game, those players join the rotation system using the whiteboard. See Next Up Rotation Board details below.
We understand it's fun to play with the same group of four, but MPC uses an open play rotation system. If someone is waiting and is next up on the whiteboard, the foursome that just finished must split up and include this person. Hosts have the right to intervene. Please show the hosts respect and care. Remember we were all once new to pickleball.
BE INCLUSIVE AND HAVE FUN!
Next Up Rotation Board
Next Up Rotation Board is used when all courts are full and a new individual or group of players arrive.
Watch a vidoe that explains how to properly use the Next Up Rotation board.
Instructions on how to use the Next Up Rotation Board:
- Players waiting for a court can add their names into the first available box.
- Game boxes are filled left to right, then next line down.
- When courts are full, an effort should be made to have 4 names per each game box to start a match.
- Individual players should add their name to incomplete boxes before starting a new game box.
- Once a court is open, cross the next full game box out.
- When the board is full, erase the completed game boxes and restart the sequence.
- Players on court cannot be included in a game box until their current game is completed.
