Your Skill Rating
New Members:
When you join WWPB you will be required to select one of the Club Levels (self-rate). This is required in order to register and play in the various events in the Calendar. If you are a new player, it is also required that you attend a “level up” play time where the group captain will suggest that you should likely play on a specific skill group.
To promote this philosophy, the Club will use the following skill level categories, called Club Levels: 2.0 (beginner), 2.5 (novice), 3.0 (intermediate), 3.5 (advanced), 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0.
If you choose not to play League, use the high-level skill descriptions to self-rate and start playing. It is better to initially rate yourself at the lower skill level and after playing move up, rather than annoying others because you over estimated your level. This option is primarily reserved for new members who only want to play socially, and not more competitively in League.
See the high-level skill descriptions as a guide.
- · For social play, find your skill level day and time slot, register in Hold My court, come out and play. That’s it!
NOTE: This process for new members has been put in place to ensure that you start at the level that will provide you and other club members with the best opportunity for social but challenging play.
Existing Members:
If you were a member previously you will automatically begin at the Club Level of your current self-rating or if you have a PC – USAPA Tournament Rating, that will be used. You may now sign up and play in any Social or League activity within your skill group.
Competitive Play and Club Skills ranking.
For Competitive League play you must create an account in Pickleball Brackets under WWPB.
If you choose to play League, use the high-level skill descriptions to self-rate. You will enter this into Pickleball Brackets when signing up. DO NOT OVER RATE YOURSELF. It is better to initially rate yourself at the lower skill level and allow your actual game scores to establish your proper rating,
Select your desired league by level and add your name. You will then see a list of Game days that correspond to the club calendar. Next, opt-in to the league on the days you will be playing.
