PICKLEBALL FOR POSSIBILITIES CHARITY FUN EVENT - DAY 1
Come celebrate Canada Day with MPC and help the Markham Food Bank at the same time!
- When: Canada Day, Tuesday July 1st
- Time: 10 am - 1:00 pm.
- Where: Cornell Community Park Pickleball Courts
- Rain date: Sunday July 6th
ABOUT THE EVENT
- This is our Pickleball for Possibilities Charity Event - Day 1
- It will feature fun games, a raffle, and a silent auction — all in support of a great cause.
- Learn rally scoring with coaches Andrew and Peter as we compete Red vs White!
- Free ice cream to all members.
- Proudly wear your Red and White!
DONATIONS
We ask for a minimum donation of $25 to the local MARKHAM FOOD BANK to participate.
- We are hoping to raise over $25,000 and will donate it directly to the Markham Food Bank using the Canadahelps platform (below).
- A donation tax receipt will be issued.
- Two anonymous donors will match top donations up to $5,000!

Want to play and be part of a team? Now’s your chance!
If you’d like to be included on one of the 12 teams competing on Saturday, July 5th, please register today. Team spots are limited, and assignments will be made based on skill level and order of registration—so the earlier you sign up, the better your chances!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Team assignments will be based on skill level needed and order of registration.
- Early registration increases your chances of being selected.
For example: if Team 5 requires a Level 4 player, the first Level 4 player to register will be awarded that spot. - Please note: Registration does not guarantee placement on a team.

You will be contacted directly with your team assignment prior to the Pickleball for Possibilities – Charity Event, Day 2, held on Saturday, July 5th | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Please arrive by 8:30 AM for sign-in.
DONATIONS - We will only ask for a minimum donation of $30 if you are SELECTED FOR A TEAM
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- 12 Teams will compete for the coveted GOLD
- Raffle prizes and a Silent Auction
- Complimentary lunch provided at the courts
- Raffle and auction winners announced during lunch break
GAMEPLAY FORMAT:
- Matches will use rally scoring
- First team to reach 21 points wins (win by 1)
- Players of equal skill will be matched against each other
(e.g., Level 4.0 players from Team 4 will play Level 4.0 players from Team 5)

LEVEL 2 - PLAY BETTER CLINIC
Do you want to take your game to the next Level?
Join us for a fun and focused 2-hour Level 2 Play Better Clinic designed for intermediate players (3.0+ skill rating), looking to improve their fundamentals and gain a deeper understanding of the game. This Clinic will be led by 2 coaches, including Pro Coach Mike Wang.
- Date: Thursday, July 10, 2025
- Time: 6pm-8pm
- Location: UBComplex, 1375 Denison St., Markham
- Fees: $47.50 MPC Member or $58.50 for Non-MPC Member

Important : Temporary MPC Courts closure
Dear Members,
The City has scheduled repairs at the Cornell Pickleball Courts from July 7th for about 10 days (weather permitting). During this time, the courts will be closed for maintenance. We appreciate your understanding, and the City apologizes for the inconvenience.
As a result, the Ladder League start date will be postponed to Saturday, July 17 (weather permitting).

Daily Pass
If you are a Basic MPC Member, you may purchase a daily pass, for play on the outdoor courts at Cornell Community Park Pickleball courts. The pass is good for the whole day.
- Monday to Friday only
- $5 + hst + processing fee

Club Hours* (subject to WEATHER)
MPC Outdoor courts is open daily, 7 days a week. However, during club hours (shown below), ONLY MPC season pass members and Daily Pass holders can play on the courts. Members that have paid the Outdoor Court fee will be given a shoe tag that must be worn at all times and will be emailed a confidential gate code to access the courts. Those who have paid the Daily Fee will be provided with a dated name tag. Guests that wish to play for free can play during the public hours. For insurance reasons, restricted access will be enforced and non-conforming members will lose their playing privileges. It is expected that all members will uphold these rules.

Court Hosts
Court hosts will be available for all club hours except in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. They are responsible for welcoming new players, monitoring for shoe tags and organizing play.
