Thank you for signing up for the Doug Olson Memorial Pickleball Fundraiser! We’re so grateful for the incredible response to this event—your support means the world, and we can’t wait to see the courts full of energy, smiles, and great pickleball in Doug’s honor.

Below you’ll find all the important details about match format, rules, and what to expect on the day. Please take a few moments to read through everything so you are fully prepared. We want the day to run smoothly for everyone involved.

Unless otherwise stated below, all rules from the Global Pickleball Federation 2025 Official Rule Book will apply.

Event Format:

  • 5 pools of 6 teams each.
  • Single round robin (5 matches per team).
  • Approximately 90 minutes per match.
  • Doors open at 8am, matches start at 9am and continue throughout the day.
  • Standard round robin tiebreaker rules apply.

Match Format:

  • Home Team will be determined randomly (pick 1 or 2)
  • Home team serves first for all games
  • Game Order: Womens, Mens, Mixed 1&2, Rotating Singles Tiebreaker (if needed)

Game Format:

  • Home team is always the serving team.
  • Games to 21, win by 2, using rally point scoring.
  • Switch sides at 11
  • Game winning point can only be scored while serving.

Singles Tiebreaker Format:

  • Away team sets their player order first, followed by the Home team.
  • One game to 15 (win by 2) with rally scoring and a team must win while serving.
  • Players will rotate every 4 serves/points in set order.
  • Regular rally scoring rules for singles apply (players serve from the left or right side of the court based on their score.)
  • During the tiebreaker, each team will be allotted one (1) time-out. Teams will change ends when one team reaches a score of 8.
