Fall 2025
2025 Outdoor Program
With over 500 members participating, the outdoor program is wrapping up for the summer. From all reports, members had a terrific time, programs were full and the level of play was just what everyone wanted. Special thanks to the many hosts that stepped up to lead the sessions. Your leadership and commitment is the engine behind the outdoor success. Added thanks to Barry Thuen and Reg Lakness for your dedication to keeping the courts in good shape and supplies, balls and equipment in place, so everyone could focus on playing. Thanks to those behind the scenes keeping SUG up to date as well - Doreen Allen-Reiss, Terry Haas-Pasloski and Donna Loran.
Changes Coming - 2026 Outdoor Program
PRI has been notified by the City of Regina that the leisure fees bylaw will be enacted for pickleball for outdoor courts for 2026. This will result in increased fees, as permit costs will rise to over $10.00 per hour per court. A meeting with the outdoor hosts was held in August to discuss the situation and potential fee changes for members.
Programming is working to modify next year's outdoor schedule to provide a variety of programs while keeping the increased cost to play relatively reasonable. Early plans are to start late May or early June in 2026, as the spring weather has not been favorable for outdoor pickleball in recent years. Watch for more news as plans progress.
Learn to Play Programming
Learn to Play opportunities will resume as we sort out court availability. If you recently received a notice about Learn to Play being postponed, it was sent to all members by mistake. Please ignore the email as it was intended to go to a select group of interested members.
2025-26 Programs - Queen City Pickleball Hub
Programming continues at the Queen City Pickleball Hub. PRI Fall programs have had to delay the start of the indoor Saturday Ladder session due to courts unavailable on several weekends in October. Watch for the new start of Ladder play in November.
Your continued support of PRI programs results in many sessions filling up - remember to register well in advance! Login to Court Reserve, under Events go to either categories or Calendar to view the schedule and register. For more information check out pickleballregina.ca under indoor programs.
If you have ideas for different programs, or would like to host, let us know at admin@pickleballrergina.ca.
QCPH Shutdown - Tuxedo Courts
PRI has been advised by the Queen City Pickleball Hub that the courts will not be available effective October 31st for approximately six weeks. Similar to recent years, PRI will offer the option for members to play in organized programs at Tuxedo Courts, 1575 Elliott Street. Programming is working with Tuxedo to finalize times and programs for weekdays and some weekend and very limited evening times. Details will be released very soon.
Reminder- Pickleball Regina - Annual General Meeting
A reminder to all members that the 2025 PRI Annual General Meeting is scheduled for October 19, 2025 at 7:00pm on Teams. The virtual meeting will help to make attendance easy for all members. Our quorum is 30 members so if you haven't signed up, please sign up HERE. The Board of Directors will be reporting on the operations of the club during 2024-25, present the financial statements, a bylaw change, plans for 2025-26 as well as the slate of directors for next year. Information will be provided to all members in early October.
As we approach the AGM, the Board and membership thank the retiring directors: Sheldon Gray, Wanda Saul, Steven Sagal, Les Covey and John Fraser.
Need Your Help - PRI Bookkeeping Services
The Board of Directors has approved the addition of financial support for a bookkeeper starting with the new Board in November 2025. We are looking for a person to support the Treasurer to handle coding invoices, entries to the chart of accounts and general support of our pickleball financial activities. It is anticipated that this is about 2-3 hours per month. As we are using the QuickBooks accounting software, an understanding of this or similar systems is important for success in this new role. If you want to learn more, contact admin@pickleballregina.ca.

Why wait until December 1st when Pickleball Canada will send us all a reminder? You can renew now for your 2026 PRI membership - good until December 31, 2026.
