SUMMER SWING SEND-OFF FANTASTIC FOUR TEAM PLAY Doubles Rally Scoring and Playing Rules

OBJECTIVE: First team to reach 21 points wins, with a "Freeze at 20" rule (must win by 1 on serve). TEAM COMPOSITION: Each team has 4 players (2 female and 2 male players unless otherwise specified). Starting Rotation: Both teams begin with 2 (female) players on the court.

ROTATION & SUBSTITUTION: Every 5 points, one player per team must rotate out and the next off court player from the team list plays the next 5 points. Player rotation is based on a fixed order set by each team prior to the start of the game. When players rotate onto the court, they can choose to play on either the left or right side of the court. This is the only time that a player can switch which side of the court they play on and players stay in these positions until the next substitution.

SCORING: Every Point Scores: Regardless of which team serves, the winning team of each rally earns a point. Freeze at 20 points: - If a team reaches 20 points, scoring freezes until they win by 1 point, while serving. If the score is 20-20, the non-serving team must regain the serve to continue scoring.

SERVING: The starting team designates one of their two on-court players to serve first. The other team will pick the court side which they will play. Alternate Serve: After each point, the serve alternates between the two players on the serving team. Serve changes after every lost point: If the serving team loses the rally, the serve shifts to the other team and their designated player serves. No Side Switching: Unlike traditional pickleball, players do not switch sides after winning a serve. They retain their current court position (left/right) until the next rotation/substitution.
